5 At-Home Yoga Routines To Lose Weight

Burn fat and feel your best with these wonderful at home yoga routines for weight loss!

Yoga is the last type of “workout” I thought I would do to lose weight. But you know what? When you do a million and one sun salutations you start sweating and this kinda changes your mind. And your body!

This here is a small collection of weight loss yoga routines that can help keep you calm while shedding some pounds and making you stronger.

Yoga for weight loss: these 7 yoga routines helped me lose 20 pounds. I find the best time to do these yoga sequences is in the morning after I wake up. You can do these yoga workouts at home and need almost no equipment.


During the last year, I couldn’t run, I couldn’t lift weights and I couldn’t do 10,000 push-ups. I didn’t have time and I also always felt tired just from being a mother of a growing baby.

That’s when I found out yoga can be a great way to start moving your body more. In a mindful and graceful way at that. Getting started with yoga is an excellent way to ease into a consistent exercise routine. There’s no jumping around, no lifting 100-pound weights, no 100 sit-ups or push-ups. But it works!

And because it’s easier than most other types of workouts, you just want to keep doing it every day. You’ll feel taller, more flexible, stronger, calmer, just better in your body.

When you stay consistent and choose the right yoga routines you can start losing weight too. That’s what happened to me. Yoga is the most important part of my morning routine, and even if I only have 10 minutes I HAVE to do it.


Here are 3 ways yoga can help you lose weight:

  • you feel happier, calmer, more alert, and you stress less – which can all lead to weight loss
  • there are types of yoga that can actually help you burn more calories

You can make your own yoga workout plan with the routines I share below. I highly recommend using a workout planner and a workout log on a regular basis to help you keep track of your workouts. Yoga Workouts For Weight Loss

Now here are my favorite weight loss yoga workouts that helped me lose those 20 pounds, even though I was only “working out” at home.

You should of course combine these yoga routines with a healthy diet in order to lose weight. Because…well, no exercise is magic and can’t cancel out burgers, pizza and doughnuts.

1. 30-Minute Total Body Yoga Workout

This flow by SarahBethYoga is challenging and might make you sweat, but it will also make you feel strong and energized.

2. Amazing Fat Burning Yoga Workout

A 20-minute sequence by Boho Beautiful that is a mix of strengthening exercises with relaxing, lengthening yoga poses. This fat-burning yoga workout is a great way to start your day too!

3. Feel-Good, Feel-Strong Yoga

This is one of my favorite yoga routines, it just makes me feel alive and awake! It’s a 30-minute yoga routine via POPSUGAR Fitness. The yoga sequence will get your heart rate up and will make you feel wonderful. At one point, this flow might get a little bit too quick especially if you’re a beginner, but challenge yourself and stick with it. It’s definitely worth it!

4. Morning Metabolic Boost Yoga

This 37-minute morning yoga sequence by Gayatri Yoga will help you wake up and boost your energy! The routine will make you sweat, burn calories and release tension.

5. Yoga For Weight Loss – Healthy Energy Flow

This 35-minute yoga flow via Yoga With Adriene will help you get more intentional, relax and build lean muscle.

6. Full-Body Beginner Yoga For Strong Body and Flexibility

Improve your flexibility and get stronger by incorporating this 30-minute beginner yoga flow by Yoga with Kassandra into your weekly workout plan. This video is a great way to start your day too!


7. 30-Minute Power Yoga For Tight Abs And Toned Butt

And, yeah, the title says it all. Who doesn’t want a strong core and toned lower body? You don’t just want to lose weight, you want to feel stronger and tighter too. So get started with this 30-minute yoga practice by POPSUGAR Fitness.
